This programme of study is also offered on a 3 year full-time day basis. Please consult the Registrar's website for more information pertaining to courses offered by the University.
The concept behind the Bachelor of Humanities degree is that you are free to build your own undergraduate programme by registering for any study-units (time-table permitting) from any area of study which you consider most suitable for your academic interest, career plans, etc. This course makes it possible for you to venture outside the confines of the Faculty of Arts' areas of study and, within limits, explore knowledge from other disciplines.
The Bachelor of Humanities is different from the B.A. degree in that,
- There is no restriction as to the number of areas of study from which students might choose study-units to register for.
- There is no distinction between compulsory, elective, and optional study-units.
- Students may be allowed to register for up to 72 credits (40% of the course) in any one area of study. They may also be allowed to register for up to 45 credits (25%) in any other areas.
- There are no synoptic examinations.
- The results of all years carry equal weight in the working of the final classification.
Communication and Academic Skills Programme
The communication and academic skills programme complements students’ main course of study. It introduces them to writing and presenting as situated within academic contexts sensitive to specific disciplines and develops their competences for future careers.
